I just read an article that questions: Are we are raising a "Lost Generation"? We are raising the most photographed generation ever. Yet it is becoming clear that they will not be able to see images of their childhood when they grow up. This has long been a HUGE issue for me... I firmly believe that having portraits on display in the home is just as important to your children as sitting down together for dinner. When I was growing up, all the images that were developed either went into photo albums or into a giant drawer and proved to be a powerful way to connect with family and close friends (and when I was dating, only the "serious" girlfriends got to see the drawer). Unfortunately, nowadays, the images are on Mom and Dad's mobile phone or on Facebook; not easily accessible by your children.Regardless of how or where pictures and portraits are created... PLEASE have them printed!!! Your children need to see them.Read the article here: "Are we breeding a 'lost generation' who won't have photo albums to capture their lives?"

You might recognize Cherri as the former proprietor of FastFrame Frisco. She sold her frame store late last year and joined the J.Ridout family this summer. She is a wonderful people person with a big heart and has always been one of our biggest fans. We are incredibly fortunate to have Cherri on board.
Judging was held this week for the annual International Photographic Competition. For the first time since he’s been competing, J.Ridout was named a Bronze Medalist by earning a merit—a mark of quality and honor—for each of the four images included in his entry case to the International Photographic Competition. This is the most prestigious competition of its kind, where images are judged based on a standard of artistic excellence, not against each other.Only a small percentage of the more than 5500 entries achieve this high level of esteem. It is an enormous honor to be recognized by peers and jurors for high-quality portraiture and to be a part of this year’s group of elite artists.J.Ridout would like to thank the clients and their families whose images were a part of this year’s award winning print case. There were so many worthy choices, it was a very difficult task to choose only four images for this year’s entry.
